The Coranavirus Pandemic has created challenges for everyone in our community, yet some are more impacted than others.
We created MOKENA STRONG as a volunteer driven organization with a mission to help residents as they navigate this difficult time.
Our volunteers will help with grocery shopping or grocery delivery, pharmacy pick-ups, technology help, and assistance with other essential needs.

The idea for Mokena Strong came about when 30-year Mokena resident Terry Germany saw a post on Facebook. A local woman was offering to pick up groceries for the elderly or anyone that could not leave their homes during this COVID19 crisis. Inspired by that idea, Terry wanted to organize a way to help and contacted Joe Siwinski and Tim Ozinga. Together they received support on the Village level and have organized as a not-for-profit. They have organized their efforts with various taxing bodies in the community. Volunteers are being gathered and Mokena Strong is taking off to help anyone in the community with anything they may need. The first request call was made on Thursday, March 19 and Mokena Strong was there for a 76-year-old man who was home-bound and in need of help.
